About Sheridan Schreyer

 

Sheridan Schreyer is an interdisciplinary theatre artist and performance scholar whose work explores performances of intimacy and intimate methods of dramatic storytelling. She is a third-year student in the Master of Fine Arts in Dramaturgy program at Indiana University Bloomington, and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre with a Minor in Psychology from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford. She has also pursued additional training with Theatrical Intimacy Education, Intimacy Directors and Choreographers, the Association of Mental Health Coordinators, and the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies.  

In addition to her studies, Sheridan continues to work professionally as a dramaturg, literary manager, intimacy practitioner, and producer at theaters across the country. Recent positions include: Literary Assistant at Constellation Stage + Screen, FAIR Literary Management Assistant at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Associate Producer at Gretna Theatre, and Intimacy Coordinator for Hurricane Diane with Off Night Productions. 

Sheridan’s research interests include dramaturgical methodologies for theatrical intimacy, intimacy as/in performance, and the affective nature of dramatized love narratives. Her work can be read in the Journal of Consent-Based Performance and the forthcoming volume Dramaturgies of the Real World: Dramaturgy as Methodology.
