Lauren Strick (Female Swing) is a second-year Musical Theatre B.F.A. major from Phoenix, Arizona and is very excited to be appearing in her second MainStage at IU. Her favorite roles have included: IU’s Legally Blonde (Kate/Chutney), Actor Youth Theatre’s Hadestown (Fate 2), Valley Youth Theatre’s Willy Wonka (Featured Dancer), and The Odyssey Institute’s The Little Mermaid (Ariel). Lauren received her classical ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, and vocal training from Kat’s Artist Tree where she has performed in several ballets including: La Fille Mal Gardée (Widow Simone), Sleeping Beauty (Canary Fairy), The Nutcracker Fantasy (Russian, Snow, Flowers, U.S. Ballerina Doll), and Annalie and the Circus Show (Diana). Some of her favorite memories from her high school include participating in Willpower Dance Troupe, with which she traveled to London to perform in Shakespeare Schools Festival. Through Willpower, she has performed in Macbeth (Hecate), Taming of the Shrew (Bianca), Romeo and Juliet (Tybalt), and As You Like It (Amiens). She has additionally performed several times through Disneyland’s Imagination Campus and is a member of the International Thespian Society through her school. She is also looking forward to being a swing in Constellation’s upcoming production of A Christmas Story. Lauren aspires to work on cruise ships, national tours, and Broadway as a performer. Throughout her performing career, Lauren would love to be a choreographer. She loves rock climbing, hiking, ice skating, roller blading, and tap improv. Enjoy the show!
